Dynamo defeats Chivas USA 3-0

Despite playing without four of the team’s five forwards, the Houston Dynamo had its highest scoring output of the season in a convincing 3-0 win over Chivas USA in Houston.

Brian Ching did not play as he is recovering from a hamstring strain he suffered on April 1. Three other forwards, Cam Weaver (injury), Luis Landin (suspension), and Joseph Ngwenya (paperwork issues), didn’t play either. It didn’t matter today as midfield Geoff Cameron started the scoring in the 12th minute. In the 20th minute, newcomer Lovel Palmer scored the Dynamo’s best goal of the year so far with a rocket from 35 yards. Dominic Odura finished the scoring in the 2nd half when he tapped in a pass from Brad Davis into an empty net. Goalkeeper Pat Onstad recorded his first shutout of the season for the Dynamo (2-1-1).
