TSN.ca: “After Superdraft, Impact Starting to take shape”

Amongst the players who took to the training pitch with the Impact on Monday was 33-year-old forward Brian Ching, who was picked by Montreal from the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Expansion Draft last November.

At the time, the selection of Ching was controversial as he had had stated his intent to retire if he was picked by the Impact. Since that day, there has been plenty of speculation about his future and there remains a big question mark as to whether he will still be in Impact colours when the season kicks off in March. However, when he met the Montreal media, he was saying all the right things about his commitment to helping the club achieve success.

“I made an emotional decision at an emotional time and over the past few months, I have been able to reflect and I am here today to help the Impact win games,” said Ching after the club’s first training session. “It is a new team and one of the challenges is to get to know everybody as quickly as possible and to try and set a good example.”
